Bride forces guests to stand up during the reception by not setting enough seats for everyone, claiming she wants them to mingle: ‘I saw the bride's elderly father with nowhere to sit’
Picture this–You are invited to a friend's wedding, one that you are not that excited to attend. You don't want to spend all that money on the gifts and the travels, you don't want to take the day off from work, and the only person you are going to know at that wedding is the one at the alter, so you will have no one to talk to throughout the entire event.
Yet, you still feel the obligation to go, to be there while your friend is celebrating the happiest day of their life. So, you swallow your pride and make the necessary plans to attend.
Then, when you arrive at the venue, you realize just how big a mistake you made. Everything at that wedding is a mess – The ceremony started early with half of the guests still not in attendance, there are not enough seats and tables for everyone at the reception, and your friend, the one who organized that mess? They are laughing it off, telling guests to 'get over it and mingle'.
